A man driving a semi-truck in downtown Dallas slid off a wet, slippery road, causing it to fall 30-40 feet.

The accident occurred on Tuesday around 12:30 midnight.

The driver was en route from westbound Woodall Rodgers Freeway to the northbound Stemmons Freeway when the truck lost traction, causing it to slide off the elevated ramp. The man was trapped for nearly an hour as first responders worked to free him from the wreckage.

Once freed, he was taken to a hospital, where he reportedly remains in critical condition.

The crash also caused damage to signaling equipment for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit. Victory Station and Downtown Dallas trains will be affected.
