New Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens has officially landed in the Lone Star State and discussed the potential for this team heading into the 2025 season during an introductory press conference on Thursday.
Pickens quickly addressed the Pittsburgh Steelers’ decision to trade him, noting that he is just happy to be with a franchise that wants him in the locker room.
“This game is just as much a business as it is football. It’s kinda like out of my control,” he said, per Sports Illustrated.
“I’m glad to be here in Dallas and able to continue the winning culture that they have.”
Pickens quickly shifted his attention to the Cowboys’ potential for next season, specifically pointing to the level of play the team can reach on the offensive end.
“I feel great. I like the mojo here. I like the swag. I feel like they have a great thing going for sure,” Pickens explained, per Sports Illustrated.
“I’m grateful to be here. I’m grateful to play with Dak [Prescott].”
Pickens said he is “glad to be working” in Dallas after years of instability at quarterback, adding that Prescott is a “smart QB” who will help the team win.
“Just watching his game over the years, he’s a very prolific QB,” said Pickens, as reported by On3.
Similarly, Pickens called his new teammate Ceedee Lamb a “Super dynamic receiver” and said opposing teams “won’t be able to double everybody,” which means one of the two players can take advantage of mismatches during games, per On3.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, the combination of Pickens and Lamb has created one of the most impressive wide receiver duos in the entire NFL.
Dallas now has an argument for having a top-five wide receiver duo in the league, with very few teams definitively ranking above the Cowboys in that discussion.
Lamb and Pickens have the skill and play style to complement each other well. Pickens is expected to receive many of the deep looks that allow Lamb to create yards after the catch while playing out of the slot.
Despite entering the offseason with major concerns in the wide receiver room, Dallas will now end the offseason with excitement leading into the 2025 regular season.
