Dallas’ very own celebrity chef joins MasterChef as a judge when the show kicks off for its 15th season this year.
James Beard Award-nominee Tiffany Derry will be front and center of the popular cooking reality show hosted by world-famous Chef Gordon Ramsay when it premieres this summer. Known as MasterChef: Dynamic Duos, this season will take on a new twist, pairing amateur home cooks together.
It is not difficult to see why Derry was chosen for the iconic role alongside Ramsay and judge Joe Bastianich. Last month, The Dallas Express reported that the restaurant Derry co-owns, Radici Wood Fired Grill, was the highest-ranking establishment from North Texas to make the list of the best restaurants in Texas from Texas Monthly. In fact, Derry’s restaurant was ranked the second-best in the entire Lone Star State.
And this accolade is not her first.
Derry’s other local establishment, Roots Southern Table, secured a spot on Southern Living’s list of “The South’s Best New Restaurants of 2023.”
This is also not the first time Derry has been invited to a popular cooking television series. Her followers may recall past appearances on Bobby’s Triple Threat, Chopped, Top Chef, Bar Rescue, and even previous seasons of MasterChef.
“For me, cooking has always been about passion, precision, and heart, and I can’t wait to bring my perspective to the table alongside Gordon and Joe,” Derry said in a statement, per CultureMap Dallas.
“The season challenges home cook duos in a whole new way, and it was so fun to see them rise to the occasion. Get ready for some incredible food, tough love, and maybe even a little spice!”
MasterChef was reportedly FOX’s most-viewed show last summer in the multi-platform viewing category, reaching 4.3 million total viewers.
MasterChef: Dynamic Duos premieres this summer on Fox, with episodes available to stream the following day on Hulu.
