The North Dallas mansion of Howard Hughes Holdings’s former chief executive has been listed for nearly $25 million.
Known as the “The Forty,” the 5530 North 40 Place property sits on a more than six-acre lot. At just over 20,000 square feet, the estate features nine bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and six half bathrooms.
“Surrounded by meticulously landscaped gardens and scenic walking trails, The Forty seamlessly merges natural beauty with modern luxury, creating an idyllic sanctuary in the heart of DFW,” reads the property description on Realtor.com.
The property was built by David Weinreb, the co-founder and former CEO of real estate development and management company Howard Hughes Holdings. The Texas-based company was formerly headquartered in Dallas before relocating to The Woodlands in 2019.
The Forty’s inception dates back to the early 2000s when Weinreb acquired the land that would eventually house the estate. Construction of the home was ultimately completed in 2009.
“Its serene seclusion is perfectly balanced with easy access to the vibrant communities of Highland Park, Preston Hollow, Plano, and Frisco, offering the best of both North and South,” continues the listing description.
The Forty boasts a “grand reception hall” that takes you to your own private wing, while the mansion’s west wing is exclusively for entertainment. There, you can find a “stylish bar lounge” and a modern chef’s kitchen. Moving upstairs, owners will have access to their own private library and a home theater.
The ground level houses a wine cellar, a dedicated massage room complete with steam shower, and a “stunning cabana-game room.”
The northern section of the estate features a resort-style pool and a garden pavilion that can accommodate 600 seated guests. The estate also includes a tennis court, a private freshwater pond, a putting green, and a garage with lifts that can hold more than two dozen cars.
The property is listed for $24.995 million.
