Shortly after a heated exchange between President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as reported by The Dallas Express, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton reminded his followers on X about U.S. Sen. John Cornyn’s meeting with Zelenskyy at the Munich Security Conference.

Paxton’s criticism is part of a broader narrative in which he accuses Cornyn of prioritizing foreign interests over domestic issues, particularly a $95 billion foreign aid package that included support for Ukraine.

Paxton, known for his conservative stance, has been a vocal critic of the Biden administration and has faced legal challenges, including an indictment for securities fraud since 2015. He was acquitted in a 2023 impeachment trial.

Paxton has hinted at running against Cornyn in the 2026 Senate primary, criticizing Cornyn’s voting record and conservative credentials.

John Cornyn, a U.S. Senator from Texas since 2002, has held significant roles such as Senate Majority and Minority Whip. He is known for his foreign policy stances and has been involved in diplomatic efforts supporting Ukraine, which aligns with his foreign policy views.

Cornyn’s support for the foreign aid package, including assistance for Ukraine, has been a point of contention.

Paxton has labeled Cornyn an “America Last RINO” for his foreign policy decisions, using social media to amplify his criticisms.

Zelenskyy has been actively seeking international support for its conflict with Russia.

This reflects broader divisions within the Republican Party, with figures like Trump opposing further aid to Ukraine.
