Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Lee Zeldin is taking decisive action to recover $20 billion in taxpayer dollars that were funneled into questionable climate grants under the Biden administration.

These funds, distributed through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund as part of the Inflation Reduction Act, have come under scrutiny for their lack of transparency and oversight.

One of the most shocking revelations is that the Biden administration handed control of the money to Citibank rather than keeping it within direct government oversight. Zeldin has slammed this move as an attempt to shield the funds from accountability, calling for an immediate termination of the financial agreement and a full return of the money to the U.S. Treasury.

Zeldin has escalated the matter, referring it to the Office of the Inspector General and Congress for further investigation. He has also enlisted the Department of Justice to explore whether any wrongdoing or mismanagement occurred.

His efforts reflect a broader push by the Trump administration to rein in reckless government spending and prevent taxpayer dollars from being used as a slush fund for radical environmental initiatives.

Predictably, left-wing environmental groups are up in arms, claiming that rescinding the funds will hurt so-called disadvantaged communities. However, Zeldin and fiscal conservatives argue that these grants were little more than a partisan handout with little real accountability or measurable results.

By taking a stand against wasteful spending and government overreach, Zeldin is signaling that under Trump’s leadership, the EPA will focus on environmental stewardship — not funneling billions into politically motivated projects.
