Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has called upon the Dallas front office to make significant moves during the offseason following the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory.
Parsons said it was painful to watch Philadelphia win the Super Bowl and said the Cowboys have competed well against the Eagles but have been unable to stay consistent late in the season.
“This is a [Cowboys] team that, over the past couple years, we kind of got our wins and losses against them, and battled with them. Obviously, talent is here, but we’ve just got to finish; and go be aggressive the same way they did, you know?” he said, per The Cowboys.
Parsons added that the franchise needs “some call to action” because he does not want to “sit back and just watch other people build and build and build” while Dallas stays the same, per The Cowboys.
The Pro Bowl linebacker pointed to Philadelphia’s moves last offseason and explained that Dallas must be aggressive in its approach over the next few months to achieve a similar level of success.
“I want to see us be aggressive, and I wanna see us get players that’s gonna help us — that’s gonna come in and make an impact,” Parsons said, per NFL.com.
“And I wanna see us bring back our own players that are just as important, and let’s see what we can do there. There’s been a new wave in the NFL.”
Parsons’ comments regarding the upcoming offseason were similar to those made by quarterback Dak Prescott, who said he believes the Cowboys are on the brink of a Super Bowl appearance.
“I don’t want to say, ‘Check the record,’ when the other guy is holding the trophy, right? So credit to them. They’ve earned it, and they deserve it by all means. But, yeah, [we’re] very close,” Prescott said, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
The Cowboys will likely have to make multiple significant moves during the offseason to compete for a Super Bowl next year, with the trenches being the biggest area for improvement.
Luckily, Dallas will have the chance to add key pieces through free agency and the NFL Draft, which is expected to include various players who could immediately step in and impact the team.
