A group of activists protested Elon Musk’s role as head of President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, which has targeted federal spending waste and the bloated employment rolls.
The rally, attended by around 100 sign-waving activists, was held near Sen. John Cornyn’s North Dallas office.

Activists waved an assortment of homemade and pre-printed signs: “SOS Save Democracy,” “No one voted for Elon,” and “Deport Elon.”
The occasional passing car honked its horn, drawing cheers from the crowd.

Musk is facing backlash from liberals over concerns about national security, political bias, and social issues. His role in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Trump has led to accusations of unlawfully accessing classified data from federal agencies, prompting calls for investigations.
Cornyn was also a target, with several protesters waving signs and shouting at the nearby high-rise building, believing Cornyn or a staffer was possibly witnessing what was unfolding outside. Cornyn has one of his eight Texas-based offices at the location where protesters were outside.
“We’re here because of John Cornyn. He needs to hear this because we need our democracy back,” one woman told DX.
As she spoke, the crowd chanted: “Cornyn is a coward.”
Indivisible TX-24 organized the rally. The outfit touts itself as an entity that “gives progressives a place to share our ideas and work to safeguard our democracy in a country that’s become a target for Christian nationalists.”
