The Dallas Stars have steadily risen in the standings, and after three consecutive wins, they now hold fourth place in the Western Conference.
During this three-game winning streak, Dallas has defeated the Las Vegas Golden Knights twice and the St. Louis Blues once, helping the team to an overall record of 32-17 this season.
The Stars are now in fourth place in the Western Conference standings, just two points behind the Edmonton Oilers and Golden Knights.
Stars defenseman Esa Lindell said after the win over Las Vegas that the team has been “playing well” and executing a style that allows them to take down any opponent they face.
“I feel like [coach] Pete [DeBoer] says it, we give ourselves a chance to win every night. I think that’s been happening and we’re putting points in the bank,” he continued, according to NHL.com.
Although Dallas has begun to find its stride this season, the team will have to overcome one major hurdle: defenseman Miro Heiskanen is set to miss multiple weeks with a knee injury.
Heiskanen left the Stars’ Wednesday matchup against the Las Vegas Golden Knights in the third period and is expected to miss multiple games.
Stars Coach Pete DeBoer said the team is “terming him week-to-week,” and there is still little information about the full extent of the injury.
“He had an MRI yesterday and then he’s seeing the specialist today who has gathered all of the information. We’ll know more after that,” DeBoer added, per NHL.com.
Despite the injuries that Dallas has dealt with this season, DeBoer said he has been impressed with how his team is “sticking with it through adversity.”
“We’ve had a lot thrown at us this year at different points. I like our resiliency,” he said, per NHL.com.
Dallas will look to continue their winning streak with two home matchups against the Vancouver Canucks and Columbus Blue Jackets over the weekend, followed by a difficult six-game road trip.
