Dallas residents remain actively involved in supporting Dallas HERO’s mission to document homeless encampments across the city.
This grassroots effort has garnered significant engagement as residents photograph and submit encampment locations in real-time.
Dallas HERO is actively encouraging residents to continue submitting photos through its streamlined process. According to Pete Maracco, Executive Director of Dallas HERO, these submissions are critical to driving actionable change. “Every photo submitted brings us closer to addressing the root causes of homelessness and ensuring our city’s resources are directed where they’re most needed,” Maracco said.
This initiative is part of a broader push to implement sustainable solutions for homelessness while maintaining the safety and quality of life for all Dallas residents.
By documenting and reporting encampments, citizens play a key role in highlighting the urgency of the issue and ensuring their concerns reach City Hall.
Dallas HERO remains hopeful that this collective effort will encourage city leaders to prioritize effective measures that benefit both those experiencing homelessness and the neighborhoods impacted by encampments. “When people see something and take the time to report it, they’re contributing to real solutions,” Maracco added.
