Is ‘Visit Fort Worth’ using taxpayers’ money to promote the controversial Diaries of Home exhibit being shown at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, which critics contend contains child pornography?
Visit Fort Worth is a non-profit entity, 501(c)(6), contracted with the City of Fort Worth to promote tourism.
According to documents obtained by The Dallas Express via a Freedom of Information Act request, the non-profit received $18,313,997 from the city’s Public Events, Culture & Tourism account.
The Dallas Express reported previously on a tip from a Fort Worth resident who informed DX that the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth was showcasing an exhibit called Diaries of Home. The documentary photography includes pictures of naked children and LGBTQ+ content.
DX visited the museum and saw several pictures featuring children. One photo showed a nude girl jumping on top of a table. Another depicted a naked boy with an unknown liquid substance and his genitals exposed.
DX has been notified that a warrant has been issued and executed regarding child pornography images at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
The images have been secured as potential evidence and will not be visible to the public while the investigation is pending.
Visit Fort Worth’s page for Diaries of Home contains the museum’s link, contact information, and ticket information.
The Visit Fort Worth website states, “Diaries of Home features works by twelve women and nonbinary artists who explore the multilayered concepts of family, community, and home. ”
DX reached out to Visit Fort Worth Executive Assistant to the CEO & COO Hillary James and Talent and Culture Manager Victoria Valles-Miller but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
