In a case that the Walton County District Attorney described as a “House of Horrors,” a wealthy gay couple, Zachary and William Zulock were sentenced to 100 years in prison for the rape and sexual abuse of their young adopted sons.
The assaults are alleged to have begun as early as ages three and five, and the District Attorney claimed they “put their extremely dark desires above everything and everyone else.”
In addition, the Zulocks are alleged to have created over seven terabytes of film of the abuse of their adopted sons, and offered at least one of the children to another individual.
The couple is alleged to also have bragged about the abuse and would send photographic evidence to friends.
The couple reportedly took place in several pro-gay advocacy campaigns, and photographs of them were featured in Out magazine.
The Zulocks were arrested when an individual in another investigation referenced that he received pornographic material of minors from the Zulocks.
Both the sentencing judge and the District Attorney of this county just outside of Atlanta praised the bravery and fortitude of the victims, with this statement from the District Attorney:
“These two defendants truly created a house of horrors and put their extremely dark desires above everything and everyone else,” district Attorney Randy McGinley said in a statement. “However, the depth of the Defendants’ depravity, which is as deep as it gets, is not greater than the resolve of those that fought for justice and the strength of the victims in this case. The resolve I have seen from these two young victims over the last two years is truly inspiring.”
