In a leaked audio recording posted on TikTok, Fort Worth Councilmember Chris Nettles is allegedly heard discussing plans to target a family member, wanting to wiretap a phone, and calling his colleagues racist.
Fort Worth resident Payton Jackson shared a 6-minute-long video from 2022 on TikTok featuring Nettles’ alleged past comments.
Nettles was first elected to the Fort Worth City Council in 2021 after defeating incumbent councilwoman Kelly Allen Gray in the June runoff election. Nettles’ seat will be up in May 2025 for the municipal election, according to Ballotpedia.
“That’s the same n**ga uh called us a racist. And I did, I called every Republican a racist, sure did and will say it again: yeah, Donald Trump, Michael Crain, Mattie Parker, Carlos Flores…” the first part of the TikTok video says.
Nettles was also allegedly heard saying he wanted leverage over Councilmember Jared Williams.
“Jared kind of weird, but he be getting toasted; let’s do that as a project so we can have leverage over him…” Nettles reportedly said.
Jackson included text in the video accusing Nettles of allegedly planning a hit on family members and being involved in both heterosexual and homosexual affairs. Nettles is also heard allegedly discussing plans to tap his wife’s phone.
“Tries to put out a hit once he discovered his wife was cheating with his brother AND God brother (Despite the affairs with both men and women),” the TikTok video’s captured summary reads.
“Is there a way to tap the phone?” Nettles is reportedly heard saying. “It needs to be bad enough that he goes to the hospital; you’ll think twice before you f**k somebody’s wife.”
Jackson told The Dallas Express that she and Nettles were once friends and that she worked on his city council campaign.
“I received a call at 10:55 this morning from Nettles telling me to take the video down,” Jackson told The Dallas Express on December 16.
“He was trying and succeeded tapping his wife’s phone,” Jackson added.
“Nettles has a few affairs. I won’t name any besides Patrice Jones, the girl with the gardens, and some dude that drums at his church sometimes. In regards to other threats, I suggest doing some research on his relationship with his two previous district directors,” Jackson said.
The Dallas Express contacted Councilmember Chris Nettles for comment but did not receive a response.
