Texas GOP Legislative Priorities include:
- Border enforcement.
- Secure elections.
- Ending the sexualizing of Texas kids.
- No Democratic committee chairs.
- A ban on taxpayer-funded lobbying.
- Securing the state’s electric grid.
- Halting federal overreach.
“Texas Republicans worked hard this election, and the voters gave our party a historic victory. This poll confirms what we saw in the election: that Texans want conservative leaders who will secure the border, put Americans first and protect our values,” Texas GOP Chairman Abraham George said in the statement.
“Our voters want Donald Trump and Republicans in office, and they want Donald Trump and Republicans’ policies into law,” George added.
The poll results show that 68% of voters agree that Texas state representatives should pass legislation to prevent China and Chinese nationals from obtaining land in the state. It also showed 61% want to prioritize Texas students over students from other states or countries.
Additionally, “72% support protecting historical monuments, 66% oppose the display of gay pride and transgender flags in public schools, and 56% support eliminating DEI and affirmative action programs,” the Texas GOP X post said.
Lastly, the results show that 61% of Texans support the death penalty, which is part of the Texas GOP platform.
“The Republican Party of Texas sees these results as a clear mandate to advance policies that protect Texas’ sovereignty and values. We look forward to the 89th Legislative Session to do just that!” reads the post.
