Fort Worth Police Officer Robert Fenner died on Friday after a long battle with colorectal cancer.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of Officer Robert Fenner #3770, who passed away Friday afternoon. Officer Fenner was a remarkable individual—a kind and courageous soul who dedicated his life to serving our city with honor and commitment. We stand united with Officer Fenner’s family, friends, and his brothers and sisters in blue during this difficult time. Together, we will honor his memory and ensure his legacy lives on,” the Fort Worth Police Officer Association shared on Facebook.
“To support the Fenner family in this time of need, a link has been made available for those who wish to assist. May his family, both blood and blue, find strength and comfort in the days ahead,” continued the post.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Fenner’s family created a Give InKind page to ask for donations as Fenner battled cancer. Fenner had undergone triple bypass surgery, recently suffered a stroke, and his cancer had metastasized, according to the Give InKind page.
Local leaders have reacted to the passing of Fenner.
“A tragic loss. Praying for his family, friends and fellow officers. May Officer Fenner Rest in Peace,” Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare posted on Facebook.
“Ofc. Fenner’s dedication, creativity, and genuine care for the community will forever be remembered. He made an impact that extended far beyond his role, leaving a legacy of excellence and kindness. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his work and spirit. May Ofc Fenner rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all,” the Fort Worth Brotherhood for the Fallen posted on Facebook.
