A woman was shot during an early morning carjacking incident on Thursday in Deep Ellum, said Dallas Police.
According to a FOX 4 News report, allegedly an armed man approached the woman sitting in her car just before 12:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. The man allegedly demanded her vehicle and forced her out at gunpoint.
Police said the victim pulled out her own gun, but the armed man shot her before she could fire her weapon. The suspect then drove off in her vehicle, leaving her with serious injuries.
They said the woman was transported to the hospital; her condition is unknown as of Thursday afternoon.
Police have not released further details of their investigation into the case. It is unclear whether they have developed a suspect; so far, no arrest has been made in connection with the matter.
