Dallas Wings President & CEO Greg Bibb announced on Friday that the organization has parted ways with Head Coach Latricia Trammell after two seasons together.

Trammell put together a record of 31-49 during her two seasons as the Wings’ head coach, but the 2024 season marked a disappointing year. The team finished 11th in the league with a record of just 9-31.

This disappointing finish marked the first time the Wings have missed the postseason since the 2020 season, giving the team a 45.4% chance at the first overall selection in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

The Wings’ odds for the first overall selection are also boosted due to a previous trade with the Chicago Sky that involved a first-round pick swap. Thus, the Wings have the highest odds of any team to secure the top selection.

Bibb said in a statement about the departure that he and the organization would like to “thank Latricia for her efforts and wish her well moving forward.”

“After an extensive review of our basketball operations department, which included interviews and conversations with stakeholders across our organization, I have made the decision to relieve Latricia Trammell of her head coaching duties with the Dallas Wings,” he added, per The Dallas Wings.

Bibb also announced that the organization has begun a search for a general manager, with Bibb explaining that an end-of-season review made it clear that a general manager would “expand and strengthen our basketball operations.”

“The investment in human capital in our basketball group aligns with other long-term strategic investments we have been making in our organization, including our move to the city of Dallas, highlighted by a new practice facility and the renovated Dallas Memorial Coliseum,” he added, per The Dallas Wings.

“These investments will best position the Dallas Wings to continue to be a leader on and off the court as the team pursues WNBA Championships while making a consistent positive impact in our community.”

Although Bibb confirmed that the organization has already begun the processes of hiring both a head coach and general manager, he did not specify when either signing would be completed.
