Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appears to have revealed what his job would be in a potential second Trump administration.

Kennedy implied on X that he would be in some policy role at USDA, perhaps as the Secretary of Agriculture.

“When @realDonaldTrump gets me inside the USDA, we’re going to give farmers an off-ramp from the current system that destroys soil, makes people sick, and harms family farms,” Kennedy posted.

Then he solicited public support, saying, “If you want this to happen as much as I do, PLEASE DONATE TODAY [right pointing emoji ommitted] mahanow.org/donate”

This comes after widespread speculation that Trump would appoint Kennedy as CIA director, as reported by The Dallas Express. However, Kennedy later doubted this possibility because he did not believe the Senate would confirm him.

In the video attached to his social media post, Kennedy outlined his new policies, which he said are a way to “make America healthy again.” He said the administration would rewrite regulations so small family farmers do not have to sell out to major corporate farms, a practice he says encourages mono-crop agriculture, overuse of pesticides, and a variety of other unhealthy practices.

Kennedy also said the administration would promote “regenerative farming that can rebuild [depleted] soil and replenish aquifers.”

He committed the administration to banning “the worst chemicals” used in agriculture. The environmental lawyer knows this well, as he brought some of the earliest cases against Monsanto for alleged negative health consequences from the weedkiller RoundUp.

The Dallas Express previously asked Kennedy, when he was still running for president as an independent, what he would do about the chemical glyphosate if elected president.

“The [National Institute of Health], because it is captured by the chemical industry, does not do the kind of studies [and] does not require the kind of studies that need to be done to determine the safety of these products –– and because of that, the manufacturers get to keep poisoning people and animals, etc., without any consequences,” Kennedy said.

“I am going to shift NIH’s priorities to do those studies,” he added. “I cannot tell you that we are going to ban every bad chemical, but I can put enough science out there that the lawyers can now litigate against the chemical company and let the market shut down that chemical very quickly.”

As DX previously reported, a major gulf exists between America’s health agencies and those elsewhere. While Monsanto shells out billions in settlements for RoundUp and the chemical is banned in Europe, all of America’s foremost health agencies insist that it is safe.

Kennedy continued his video by saying he would remove “conflicts of interest from USDA dietary panels and commissions.”

Kennedy has long made agriculture a focus of his work. His then-running mate, Nicole Shanahan, who was similarly floated for Commissioner of the FDA, gave a speech in Austin about restoring America’s soil quality. RFK Jr. frequently hosts episodes on his podcast about reforming the USDA.

DX reported that the USDA has been under fire in recent weeks. Texas-based agricultural groups such as the Farm And Ranch Freedom Alliance (FARFA) have condemned a new ear tagging policy that critics say would make small ranchers bear the burden of expenses that only benefit major food producers.

Coincidentally, FARFA’s Executive Director Judith McGeary had previously appeared on a panel about agricultural issues on Kennedy’s podcast in 2023.
