There’s less than one week left to take in the sights, sounds, and tastes at the annual State Fair of Texas.

If you have not visited yet, you have until Sunday, Oct. 20, to experience “The Most Texan Place on Earth,” better known as the State Fair of Texas. Whether you are into delicious eats, fun rides, shopping, or live music, this fair has it all.

Take in the Dallas Skyline on the Texas Star Ferris Wheel

If you have never visited the State Fair of Texas, you should set aside time to enjoy a ride on the iconic Texas Star Ferris Wheel, the largest in the state. At its peak, you will experience Dallas from 212 feet above the ground.

Watch the UPRA World Finals

Catch the United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA) as cowboys and cowgirls go head-to-head in the Coliseum for the UPRA Year-End Finale Rode. The finals run for four days, October 17-20.

Shop for Unique Wares

The fair’s selection of shopping is enough to justify a visit. This year, you can expect 186 vendors, 20 of which are new in 2024. You can find unique metal signs at Cowgirls and City Chics, and stylish pearl snap polo shirts from Iron Oak Apparel. Just ensure you budget enough time to browse the massive selection of shops.

Close Out with The Commodores

Funk and soul group The Commodores play on the fair’s final day. Catch the iconic ensemble when they go live on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

As previously detailed in The Dallas Express, ticket prices for the State Fair of Texas can vary widely. Tickets can be purchased on the fair’s website. The annual event officially wraps up for the year on Sunday at 9 p.m.
