Colleyville’s gateway towers have finally been completed, concluding an $8.3 million project that was two years behind schedule.

The company responsible for the construction was C. Green Scaping.

“Green Scaping is a dynamic company that can successfully handle nearly any type of construction. With decades of hands-on field experience Green Scaping regularly works with TXDOT, USACE, TCEQ, and other local state and federal agencies in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma,” the company’s website stated.

The gateway towers were completed on September 11, two years after their expected deadline, according to the Fort Worth Report.

The city authorities initiated a fine after the deadline was missed of $1,500 per day for 60 days commencing on November 1, 2022. The penalty rose to $3,000 after December 31, 2022. As of August 26, Colleyville was entitled to $1.9 million, per Assistant City Manager Mark Wood.

Wood stated that the contractors were working on punch list items for the towers.

“There’s an element that goes inside the glass top of the tower that surrounds the light mechanism to help diffuse the light,” Wood said, per FWR.

“Although it has been delayed, it adds a beauty to our corridor that we’re looking forward to,” Wood added.

“We think that our residents and business owners alike will benefit from the unique nature of our corridor and the enhancements we’ve made to it,” continued Wood.

Christopher Neal, the lawyer for C. Green Scaping, explained that various factors, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the choice of materials for the towers, caused the delay in construction.

“It’s not like you go down to a rock store and you say, ‘I want that’ and load (it) up in your truck,’” Neal said.

“These had to be cut uniquely,” Neal said, reported FWR.
