Watch parties filled up restaurants across the state of Texas Tuesday evening as people watched former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris debate.

Fort Worth Young Republicans (FWYR) held their watch party at Enchiladas Ole’ in Fort Worth.

“President Donald Trump did a great job. He’s going back to the White House this November,” FWYR president Jake Colglazier told the Fort Worth Report.

“I believe the election will send him back to the White House in January, and I think that we will make America great again. The Fort Worth Young Republicans stand behind him totally, and we’ll do whatever we can to get him reelected,” Colglazier said.

Other members of the greater Fort Worth community shared their thoughts on the outcome of the debate.

In a statement to The Dallas Express, Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare said:

“Debates have little to nothing to do with being president. Being president is about leadership, experience, and policies. Are Americans better off than we were four years ago?  No. Is the border more secure than it was four years ago?  No. Are there more wars now than there were four years ago?  Yes. Is inflation higher than it was four years ago?  Significantly. Do goods and services cost more than they did four years ago?  Much more. These are the issues that matter. And on those issues, Donald Trump and his policies win in every measurable.”

He went on to criticize how the debate was moderated.

“ABC News should be embarrassed. No Republican should agree to a debate with such an untrustworthy news source ever again,” O’Hare said.

Tarrant County Republican Party Chair Bo French also shared his thoughts on the debate with DX.

“Kamala Harris showed last night that her policies are no different than the failed policies of the last four years. More illegals, more spending, more handouts to rich Democrat donors, and fewer jobs for Americans. Donald Trump made it clear that he is the only choice this November. We have to vote for him if we want to save this country from the failure of Kamala Harris.”

Local Republican precinct chair Tammy Lehman also had this to say:

“President Trump won the debate and further convinced me that he is the one for the job. VP Harris clearly showed she is ‘all hat and no cattle.’ She has had the opportunity over the past three and a half years to team up with President Biden to make this country better for everyone. She failed. We are worse off. Her promises are empty.”
