Six Flags Over Texas is instituting a new chaperone policy for guests under 16, which will go into effect on Saturday.

“Under this policy, all guests ages 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old in order to be admitted to, or remain in, the park after 4:00 p.m. local time to close. The chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo identification with date of birth at ticket entry,” the theme park’s website explains.

Each chaperone may escort no more than 10 guests under the age of 16 and must accompany their party during entry into the park. While the chaperone is not required to accompany the minors at all times, he or she must remain in the park and be available by phone throughout the entirety of the party’s stay.

Guests under the age of 16 who are found inside the park after 4 p.m. without a chaperone may be ejected from the park.

The new policy is being implemented to maintain the park as a safe and family-friendly environment. The park stated on its website that there have been “increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior at amusement parks and other venues.”

“This policy is being put in place to ensure that all guests have the best time ever and leave happy and eager to visit again,” the website states.

The park’s policy page lists its expectations for all guests:

“We expect all guests to behave in a family-friendly manner. Line jumping, profanity, and unruly behavior are offensive to park guests and may be cause for ejection without refund.

“Guests are not permitted to save places in line, bypass others in line, or exit the line and return to the same place for any reason. Guests exiting a line must go to the back of the line if they choose to return.”

In addition, the park’s dress code states that guests wearing bathing suits should also wear a coverup or other clothing over their suits, and all visitors should “avoid clothing that may be considered inappropriate for our family-friendly environment. Clothing and visible tattoos that depict violence, nudity, vulgarity, or discriminatory language or graphics are prohibited at all times.”

Other park policies can be found on the venue’s website.
