A quaint yet bold luxury hair salon in the heart of Fort Worth’s Southside is the product of a group of dedicated and hardworking women with the common goal of making other women feel beautiful and confident.
Krystal and Chelsea Neely are co-owners of the highly acclaimed salon Candice Maude. The two sisters’ attention to detail and creative expertise extend not only to their work as hair stylists but also to their roles as successful business owners, mentors, and leaders.
The sisters worked in various salon setups throughout their careers as hair stylists. They began building their clientele base as booth owners but soon realized they could revolutionize the overdone business structure by striking out on their own. The Neelys have created an organized, consistent, and collaborative culture that encourages their fellow stylists to successfully grow their careers.
They welcome and support stylists at every stage of their careers and have molded some of the area’s youngest and most talented stylists. Before Candice Maude officially opened, the Neelys personally trained their first two stylists to bring to the team. A new wave of young stylists has since joined the Maude Squad, hungry to be the best and learn from the Neelys.
Tyler Rickett, a 24-year-old Candice Maude stylist and assistant, has been with the salon since its grand opening. Tyler is currently building her clientele while benefitting from the mentoring of the Neely sisters.
“Krystal and Chelsea have my full interest at heart every day and continue to inspire me as a person and stylist. Their resilience and patience have been foundational to my growth and have fundamentally changed the trajectory of my career,” Tyler said.

The Neelys have created a salon environment that embodies all the elements of a strong yet feminine woman. From a framed picture of Stevie Nicks singing her heart out to accent walls engulfed in floral patterns and gold accents, both beauty and strength are celebrated.
The salon is an ode to all the strong women who have taught the Neelys what it means to be successful and impressive leaders. The salon’s name, Candice Maude, is an homage to the Neely sisters’ two grandmothers.
Customers can experience a wide range of hair services at Candice Maude. From color to cuts, partial and full highlights, and more, Candice Maude has its clients covered. The Maude Squad combines styling expertise and genuine care for its clients to produce the perfect salon experience.
“We’re not just obsessed with the health and beauty of your hair – we’re celebrating resilience, kindness and strength,” the Neely sisters state on their website.
