What do you get when you team a prominent developer with a rock star builder in North Texas?

Answer: A dynamic duo is presenting a new collection of “twin homes” near Celina’s historically charming downtown square. Rockhill Capital & Investments, in partnership with builder Olivia Clarke Homes, is undertaking the development.

Seventy-eight twin homes are currently under construction on a 13-acre plot of land two blocks from downtown Celina, reported Candy’sDirt.

Twin homes are separate houses constructed next to each other to give the appearance of a large, single structure. Usually, these homes have a shared wall and entrances on opposite sides while retaining their private living areas, garages, and yards.

Here is more of what Candy’sDirt had to say about the new community called North Square at Uptown Celina:

Twin homes, or paired homes, are individual dwellings built together but designed to look like a single structure. They typically share a wall and have opposite side entrances but each home has its own living space, garage, and yard.

And a walkable community near a bustling downtown is a perfect spot for density, experts say.

Infrastructure construction is complete and new homes are being built on a 13-acre tract two blocks from downtown Celina, officials announced in a press release. Model homes are slated to open this fall.

Jennifer Johnson, founder and president of Olivia Clarke Homes, said the 78-unit development — deemed North Square at Uptown Celina — is special because it’s part of a walkable community.

“If you live in North Square, you’ll be near shops, great little lunch spots, and lots of events where people come together outside of their homes,” she said. “There’s no better place to cultivate community.”

The homes at North Square are priced from the mid-$500,000s and feature up to 2,507 square feet with three bedrooms and two-and-one-half baths, according to the press release.

North Square is one block from the intersection of West Maple Street and North Louisiana Drive.

“Historic homes in the area influenced the exteriors, while North Square’s interiors showcase modern details, ample space and windows, and smart storage solutions,” the press release states.

Residents can access a 12-foot-wide golf cart-friendly hike-and-bike trail that runs along a creek on the development’s northern boundary and connects to downtown Celina.
