The NFL’s Top 100 players have officially been revealed. They include multiple players from the Dallas Cowboys, with those in the league holding five particular Cowboys in high regard during voting.
This list is released every season and voted upon by the other players in the league, giving fans and other members of the league a glimpse into who the players believe ranks at the top of the class every year.
Although Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons landed inside the top 10 of the 2023 list, the team did not have a single player who was voted within the top 10 players in the league this year.
Regardless, five players from America’s Team were still named among the NFL’s Top 100 players.
The first of these players was offensive guard Zack Martin, who was ranked as the 53rd-best player in the NFL and has been one of the most consistent players for the Cowboys in recent years.
Martin is coming off yet another Pro Bowl season with Dallas along the offensive line, in which the veteran guard was only called for one penalty despite appearing in 15 of the Cowboys’ games, per NFL.com.
The second player listed from the Cowboys was cornerback DaRon Bland, who led the NFL in interceptions during the 2023 season and climbed up to 31st after being unranked going into last season.
Bland played in all 17 of the Cowboys’ games during the 2023 season and pulled in an impressive nine interceptions during that span, including an NFL-record five interceptions that he ran back for touchdowns.
The next two players ranked in the NFL Top 100 from the Cowboys were Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott, who were ranked in back-to-back spots at 17 and 16.
Parsons will enter the 2024 season ranked as the 17th-best NFL player after collecting 56 total tackles and 14 sacks during the 2023 season.
The linebacker had arguably the worst season of his career but will be looking to bounce back in a big way alongside new Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer, who emphasizes run defense and has a history of making defensive linemen excel in their roles.
On the other hand, Prescott is coming off the best season of his career and will enter the season ranked 16h, which is the highest he has ever begun a season of his career.
Prescott finished the regular leading the league in touchdown passes and finishing with the third-most passing yards, accumulating 36 touchdowns and 4,516 passing yards after playing in every game.
This ranking was a significant jump for Prescott after he was ranked as the 40th-best player leading into the 2023 season and now trails just Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson in the quarterback rankings.
Finally, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was ranked 13th in the league after one of the best receiving seasons any player has had in recent memory.
Lamb led the entire league in receptions while ranking second and third in the league for the most receiving yards and touchdowns, finishing the year with 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns.
All three of the Cowboys’ final players are in contract negotiations with the franchise. Prescott and Lamb’s contracts are both expected to be completed before the team begins heavily pursuing an extension with Parsons.
Lamb is actively choosing against participating in the Cowboys’ training camp as the two sides continue to negotiate terms of the extension. In contrast, Prescott has chosen to participate and could enter the season without an agreed-upon extension.
Regardless, Cowboys Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Owner Stephen Jones seemed optimistic that the team would reach long-term agreements with each of the players, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
