While Fort Worth and other cities in the North Texas area have seen their fair share of pedestrian deaths in recent years, Dallas is one of the most dangerous cities for pedestrians, according to a study by ValuePenguin, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
Researchers analyzed data on pedestrian deaths from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Fatality Analysis Reporting System between 2016 and 2020. The data was collected from 70 municipalities with populations of at least 50,000 residents.
The City of Dallas had five of the 25 roadways with the most pedestrian deaths by city. These roads were Loop 12 with 34 deaths, I-35 with 28, I-635 with 20, I-30 with 17, and I-20 with 11 deaths.
