The Dallas Cowboys arrived at the River Ridge Complex in Oxnard, California, on Tuesday for training camp, but one of their star players was not seen arriving with the team.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ceedee Lamb was not on the flight with the team to California as he awaits a new contract, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported.

Lamb’s contract is reportedly being prioritized over Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s, as previously reported by The Dallas Express. After missing the Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp in June and other offseason workouts, Lamb is making it clear he will not put himself at risk for injury before receiving his contract.

Despite being a no-show for training camp, Lamb will not be considered a holdout until Wednesday afternoon, per the NFL.

Cowboys’ offensive lineman Tyler Smith commented on the team’s commitment to training camp, regardless of who is present.

“We just have to make sure that regardless of who is practicing or who is here that we’re still doing what we need to do,” said Smith, per CBS News Texas.

Among those at training camp is Ezekiel Elliott, who will be returning for his first season as a Cowboy once again. Elliott was with the Cowboys for eight years before being traded last March to the New England Patriots, per DX. The running back will make his appearance on the practice field when the team starts camp on Thursday, according to CBS News Texas.

The Cowboys have been training in Oxnard for 18 years and for 45 years in the Southern California area. The City of Oxnard and the team agreed to hold most of its training camps at the Residence Inn by Marriott Oxnard River Ridge through 2025 at least, DX reported.
