The City of Dallas has announced the return of the Dallas International Night Market.
This is the second year of the multicultural extravaganza, which debuted last September and promises an array of treats, handcrafted goods, and live performances. Over 2,000 people attended the previous year’s event in the Dallas International District, according to a press release.
Dallas residents Elle Congelliere and Sarah Chung collaborated with the Dallas International District and the City of Dallas to assemble the first Dallas International Night Market, as reported by The Dallas Express.
”I wanted to create a space where our community could come together and support one another, especially our local businesses that make Dallas so vibrant. I truly believe that by uniting, we can uplift and sustain the heart and soul of our city,” said 4Oak Events owner and Dallas resident Sarah Chung, describing her inspiration for the event.
This year’s event is again a collaborative effort between 4Oak Events, the Dallas International District, and the City of Dallas.
The event allows food enthusiasts to “embark on a culinary journey around the world, sampling delicacies from various food vendors, while art lovers can explore one-of-a-kind treasures created by talented artisans.” In addition to the great food, the event will feature live entertainment, art displays, and Community Artist Program performances, supported in part by the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture.
The Dallas International Night Market promises to be an “unforgettable evening for attendees of all ages.”
“The Dallas International District, previously known as the Valley View-Galleria area, is undergoing a transformation into a dynamic, multicultural hub. Anchored by the upcoming Dallas International Commons, a 20-acre park approved by voters in a recent bond measure, the district is set to offer a live-work-play-visit environment,” reads the press release.
“The Dallas International Night Market has become a special event to celebrate the diversity of our city through food, shopping, music, and dance,” said District 11 Council Member Jaynie Schultz. “The inclusive environment encourages individuals to celebrate their unique heritages and unite through cuisine, performances, and support for local small businesses.”
The Dallas International Night Market will take place on Saturday, September 21, from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Prism Center, 5580 Peterson Ln., Dallas.
