Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins and Commissioner Andy Sommerman have posted on social media their respective thoughts on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“Prayers up for @DonaldTrump and the family of the citizen that lost his life to a cowards [sic] bullet. Shooting at Trump rally is being investigated as assassination attempt, AP sources say,” posted Jenkins on X.

“There is another spectator in serious condition. We are praying for them as well. This obviously could have gone longer but for the quick response of @SecretService,” he added.

Jenkins’ posts came moments after news of the shooting broke.

Concurrently, Sommerman (District 2) posted on X.

“Sending prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery to former President Donald Trump. Political violence has no place in our democracy,” stated Sommerman.

Elba Garcia (District 4) has not posted about the tragic incident on X.

Theresa Daniel (District 1) has not posted in over a decade.

John Wiley Price (District 3) appears to have never posted on the social media platform.

Garcia, Daniel, and Price are active on Facebook; however, they have yet to post about Trump’s attempted assassination on the Meta-owned platform.

The Dallas Express contacted each member of the commissioner’s court for comment. However, Daniel, Price, Garcia, and Jenkins did not respond by the time of publication.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, members of the Dallas City Council were also conspicuously tight-lipped following the fatal shooting. Every member failed to respond to a request for comment regarding their thoughts on the assassination attempt.
