A well-known “adult entertainment” club in Fort Worth was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday.

Baby Dolls, located on FM 157 near Trinity Boulevard, burned down after nearly 50 years of operation. According to the Fort Worth Fire Department (FWFD), the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

FWFD received a call about a structure fire at the club sometime after 9 a.m. on Wednesday. With support from the Euless Fire Department, eight fire engines and three ladder trucks responded to the blaze.

However, upon their arrival, fire crews not only observed heavy fire and smoke coming from the club but also significant structural damage. A compromised back wall eventually led to the collapse of the entire building.

No injuries were reported because the building was closed when the fire broke out, and firefighters refrained from entering it amid the apparent structural concerns.

Crews spent hours extinguishing the blaze.

“There’s no telling why and how it was caused, we will be investigating what happened,” FWFD spokesperson Kyle Clay told CBS News Texas. “Just thankful nobody was hurt, none of our firefighters were hurt.”

Baby Dolls had been operating since 1978 just outside of Arlington city limits.

A representative from the company that owns Baby Dolls told CBS that they plan on rebuilding.

“We are temporarily closed. We are working on cleanup and rebuilding and look forward to serving you again soon. In the meantime, visit us at Cabaret East. Thank you for your understanding,” Baby Dolls posted on its Google listing.
