A decorated and beloved World War II veteran recently celebrated his 104th birthday with friends and family at the Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care in Fort Worth.
Roy Falls, a beloved client of A Life for Seniors (ALFS), a senior placement service dedicated to assisting families in finding suitable assisted living and memory care communities, recently moved to Bethesda Gardens, thanks to ALFS.
“We were thrilled to be a part of Roy’s journey and to see him celebrate such a remarkable milestone,” said Janice Dockum, an ALFS team member, in a press release. “Helping Roy transition into a community where he feels at home has been incredibly rewarding for all of us at A Life for Seniors.”
Family and friends, including Falls’ daughter Gail Hawkins, and several other veterans, including Don Graves, joined the birthday celebration.
Falls served in the U.S. Army and later the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies from North Texas University in 1959, according to a 2014 article in the Hood County News, later working as a substitute teacher at various points over the years. He ran for county judge in Hood County in 2000.
