With less than 100 days until the 2024 State Fair of Texas kicks off, seasonal “Tex Team” member applications are now available online.
According to a press release, the fair provides more than 7,000 seasonal job opportunities each year.
The fair is looking for help in the following areas: coupon sales, creative arts, games, gates, guest services, livestock, maintenance, plumbing, and more. “As the annual event is a collection of small businesses, our business partners offer the remaining seasonal positions, including contractors, food and beverage concessionaires, ride and games operators, vendors, clean team, and security,” reads the press release. “State Fair of Texas and its employees have an exciting opportunity to work together to produce an outstanding and well-loved annual entertainment and educational event. You can showcase Texas-sized hospitality, or as we say, ‘Texantude!’ here at the State Fair of Texas,” reads the fair’s website.
Wages are up 2.3% from last year, with a starting hourly wage of $18.25 per hour.
A “Tex Team Resource Center” will open on Monday and provide a “one-stop shop” for new and returning seasonal employees. Visitors will be able to receive assistance with their applications, attend interviews and orientations, and more. Applicants are encouraged to fill in as much information as possible online before visiting the resource center. The resource center is located at 1331 Washington St. and will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, throughout July.
Running for 24 consecutive days each year, the State Fair of Texas is the longest-running fair in the nation. The fair was established in 1886 to promote Texas agriculture, education, and community involvement.
