High interest, taxes, and insurance rates continue to discourage buyers from looking for a new home, reports 10 KWTX:

“The Heart of Texas Builders’ Association invited visitors to come and see new properties that are for sale in their Parade of Homes.

“Courtney Hays came to look at properties to find her permanent home but is slightly worried about the housing market.

“‘Right now, I mean you almost don’t even want to buy house right now,’ Hays noted.

“Hays says she has concerns about the rising interest rates, and Real Estate Agent Joe Reed says that many potential homeowners are thinking twice before signing their mortgage.

“‘Not only are they paying more on a monthly basis because of the interest rate,’ Reed explains. “They are also paying more before taxes and insurance.”
