The Patriot Freedom Project has released a three-part miniseries detailing the numerous alleged violations committed by the Department of Justice under President Joe Biden in prosecuting January 6 defendants.
“Many of these victims have been deliberately targeted by Joe Biden and his weaponized DOJ and intelligence agencies,” constitutional scholar and author Paul Ingrassia wrote for the Gateway Pundit. “These institutions have been hijacked by Biden to persecute his political enemies with vengeance, which has done major, potentially irreversible, damage to the rule of law along the way.”
Ed Martin, president of the Phyllis Schlafly Eagles and a Patriot Freedom Project board member, narrated part of the series. Through a series of interviews, Martin purportedly shows how the DOJ is allegedly skirting the rule of law to prosecute individuals who were at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
“[Martin’s] conversations help shed light on the egregiously heavy-handed sentences being handed down against many political prisoners,” Ingrassia wrote. “On any other occasion, these political victims would be getting charged for trespassing (normally a misdemeanor), at the absolute worst. Now, they are facing potentially decades-long sentences behind bars.”
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, federal law enforcement under the Biden administration has been accused of legal overreach, politicization, and selective targeting of suspects.
Marking the third anniversary of the historic protest at the U.S. Capitol, the DOJ published statistics in January on the number of individuals charged and convicted of various crimes associated with the incident. A total of 1,265 individuals from across the United States have been charged, and some 452 have been charged with assault, resisting, or impeding officers or employees.
A total of 171 people have been found guilty after trial. Some 76 defendants were found guilty of felonies. One defendant got a 14-year sentence. About 718 individuals have pled guilty to various federal charges, with 213 pleading guilty to felonies and 505 pleading guilty to misdemeanors.
“Under the continued leadership of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the FBI’s Washington Field Office, the investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the attack continue to move forward at an unprecedented speed and scale,” the DOJ wrote in a statement. “The Department of Justice’s resolve to hold accountable those who committed crimes on January 6, 2021, has not, and will not, wane.”
