Located in northeast Dallas off of North Buckner Boulevard, Lake Highlands Park is ideal for spending a day with the family.

The Dallas Arboretum’s Cool Thursdays Concert Series
Last month marked the beginning of the 27th season of the Cool Thursdays Concert Series, held weekly at the Dallas Arboretum off of State Highway 78.
During the spring, gates open at 6 p.m., with performances kicking off at 7.30 p.m. Organizers encourage you to link up with your buddies, pack a picnic, and enjoy the grounds and live music.
Established in 1929, this large park in East Dallas has over 100 acres of hiking trails.
Spread out on the grass or grab a picnic table to enjoy lunch. Kids will enjoy the park’s playground, while parents of young ones will appreciate access to portalets on site.
Playgrounds, a garden, a walking trail, and, of course, a picnic area make Kiest Park in Oak Cliff a great spot to enjoy a meal outdoors.
If you want to enjoy the many sports fields at this park, ensure you have the required gear.
This 205-acre city lake is in the northwest section of the city, next to Dallas Love Field Airport.
Bachman Lake boasts an over three-mile hiking and bike trail, a pavilion, restroom facilities, and more.
It even has a boat ramp and boathouse so that you can enjoy a cruise on the water after lunch.
