Three Dallas bars have been selected among this year’s Spirited Awards winners, recognizing the best in the country.
The Spirited Awards are an annual ceremony that honors excellence in the global beverage industry. Established in 2007, the awards recognize “beverage professionals, products, establishments, journalists, and media across every facet of the spirits and cocktail industry on a global scale.” The awards were created by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation, a non-profit organization focusing on the global hospitality industry.
Each of the Dallas bars listed below was among the 10 recognized in each regional category.
Catbird at the Thompson Hotel Dallas (Category: Best U.S. Hotel Bar, U.S. Central)
Catbird is located atop the Thompson Hotel Dallas in Downtown Dallas. Patrons can enjoy bite-sized eats and cocktails while admiring the city from the rooftop. This unique Dallas institution even hosts Mahjong & Martini Mondays each week.
Midnight Rambler at The Joule (Category: Best U.S. Hotel Bar, U.S. Central)
Midnight Rambler is not just a great bar to grab a drink. You can also find one of the best burgers in the city hiding in this iconic subterranean establishment below The Joule. Expect delicious and creative refreshments courtesy of local award-winning bartender Gabe Sanchez and eclectic tunes and live DJs on weekends.
Saint Valentine (Category: Best New U.S. Cocktail Bar, U.S. Central)
When Gabe Sanchez is not busy at Midnight Rambler, you can likely catch him working at Saint Valentine, the bar he co-owns with Ryan Payne, another seasoned local bartender from North Texas.
The bar, which opened last year and boasts two patios, is located on Bryan Street in the building formerly known as Top Round. The establishment bills itself as a place where “Far Out West Texas meets Old East Dallas.”
Austin had several bars make the list in a variety of categories, including Best U.S. Bar Team (U.S. Central), Best U.S. Cocktail Bar (U.S. Central), Best U.S. Hotel Bar (U.S. Central), and Best New U.S. Cocktail Bar (U.S. Central). Houston was recognized in the Best U.S. Cocktail Bar (U.S. Central) category.
