Planned Parenthood posted a cartoon photo on social media over the weekend of a pregnant transgender man.

“Trans men’s and non-binary pregnancy stories and journeys deserve to be heard and celebrated,” the photo message displays next to a bearded man with a pregnant belly.

“Just a reminder to: normalize ? pregnancy ? journeys ? for ? ✨ALL ✨ genders ?,” Planned Parenthood wrote in the caption on Instagram.

In addition to providing abortions, Planned Parenthood facilitates transgender hormone usage. Some of its clinics even allegedly work around laws banning the administration of transgender hormones to minors through out-of-state and telehealth access.

Planned Parenthood has a webpage that advises biological women who identify as transgender men on how to get pregnant and how to avoid becoming pregnant.

Studies show that testosterone usage by biological women leads to lower rates of fertility. However, these individuals can become pregnant in the earlier stages of testosterone use if they keep their reproductive organs. They are advised to stop taking the hormone if they plan to get pregnant because testosterone interferes with their menstrual cycle.

High levels of testosterone during pregnancy can also hinder fetal growth and cause cardiovascular issues in both the pregnant individual and the baby, studies show.

The Planned Parenthood Instagram post was previously flooded with skeptical comments about the notion of pregnant men, but it appeared the comments were later removed.

Apple also faced criticism in 2022 after it added a pregnant man emoji. Calvin Klein showed a transgender man in its commercial for Mother’s Day.

Still, others argue that transgender individuals should be accepted and open about their identities.

The White House honored “Transgender Visibility Day” this year on Easter, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

“Transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our Nation. Whether serving their communities or in the military, raising families, or running businesses, they help America thrive. They deserve, and are entitled to, the same rights and freedoms as every other American, including the most fundamental freedom to be their true selves,” President Joe Biden said.
