Top Democrats continue to condemn anonymous dark money donations, even as they rake in tens of millions of dollars from secretive political fundraising groups.

President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign’s leading outside fundraising group, Future Forward PAC, received an $8 million donation in late December from its affiliated nonprofit, Future Forward USA Action, reported Fox News. The nonprofit, however, does not list the identities of its donors — a practice Democrats often criticize.

Biden previously bashed the dark money machine, saying there is “too much money that flows in the shadows to influence our elections,” which he claimed “erodes public trust,” per Fox News.

Future Forward USA Action has heavy ties to Arabella Advisors, a Washington, D.C. group that manages billions of dollars in dark money, Fox News Digital previously reported. The Impetus Fund, a member of this dark money network, reportedly sent most of its undisclosed cash, $55.8 million, to Future Forward USA Action in the previous presidential election.

This secretive fundraising scheme extends to congressional Democrats. As of January, Majority Forward, a dark money nonprofit, sent $15.75 million to its closely linked Senate Majority PAC. These donations came as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) advocated for legislation regulating dark money, Fox News noted.

House Majority Forward, another dark money nonprofit, sent $8 million to the Democrat’s House Majority PAC in late December.

Democrats benefit from dark money more than Republicans, The New York Times previously reported, even as the party leads the fight against such secretive fundraising schemes. The 15 most active Democrat-linked dark money non-profit groups spent $600 million more than the comparable sample of the top 15 Republican-linked dark money groups.
