One of Coca-Cola’s biggest bottling partners in the United States plans to expand its warehouse operations in Fort Worth.
Dallas-based Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB), a subsidiary of Arca Continental, is set to spend $168 million over the next three years expanding its Fossil Creek warehouse facility in Fort Worth from 150,000 square feet to 400,000 square feet, The Dallas Morning News reported.
The planned expansion also includes two new production lines dedicated to the beverage giant’s catalogs of sparkling sodas.
CCSWB president Jean Claude Tissot said the company would be better positioned to capture future growth opportunities by investing in the latest warehouse and production technology.
“We need to think about the opportunities for the future, how we will continue to grow, how we will continue to offer job opportunities, and how we are going to be state of the art in terms of technology,” said Tissot, per DMN. “That’s not just in our facilities, but also in our commercial initiatives.”
Overall, CCSWB is Coca-Cola’s third-largest bottling partner in the United States. In 2022, a study showed that CCSWB generated over $6.06 billion in economic activity throughout Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas.
“As a company of Arca Continental, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages is deeply rooted in the local economies of the communities we serve,” said Tissot in a September news release. “As the local bottler, our goal is to leave an enduring footprint in these areas, and we remain committed to continuing to drive positive change in the communities where we live and work.”
According to the company’s website, CCSWB currently employs 708 people at its Fossil Creek facility in Fort Worth. However, the company has over 1,800 employees in various roles throughout North Texas, DMN reported.
The Dallas Express contacted CCSWB to learn more about the planned expansion, but the company was not immediately available for comment.
