The Dallas Police Department has announced that 30 new suspects had been arrested for allegedly soliciting prostitution.
Officers from DPD’s Special Investigations Division conducted a sex sting on March 27 with the help of the Northwest Prostitution Task Force and Northwest Crime Reduction Team. The men arrested ranged from age 21 to 62. A total of five handguns and over $3,400 in cash were seized, per the DPD news release.

As covered by The Dallas Express, DPD has made dozens of arrests recently in its crackdown on sex buyers in Northwest Dallas through a series of undercover operations. Some of the suspects were allegedly carrying drugs or had outstanding warrants.
Council Member Omar Narvaez’s District 6 leads in prostitution-related crime, with 62 of the 85 offenses logged in the City’s crime analytics dashboard this year as of March 27. DPD has intensified its efforts against street prostitution citywide, which could explain why reports of prostitution-related offenses rose 100.3% between 2022 and 2023.
Nevertheless, DPD fields only 3,000 officers, which falls considerably short of the 4,000 recommended in a City analysis of public safety needs based on Dallas’ population size. Moreover, City leaders allocated DPD a budget of just $654 million for the fiscal year, far less than the spending levels seen on policing in other high-crime jurisdictions.
