Some migration experts are concerned that unlawful migrants are being used to destabilize the United States amidst the high number of crossings seen at the southern border since the beginning of President Joe Biden’s term.

Joseph Humire, the executive director of the Center for a Secure Free Society, said he was concerned that other countries have “weaponized” unlawful migration into the United States due to its weak border security policies.

“That’s why I think the term ‘invasion’ is appropriate,” Humire explained, per The Epoch Times.

The term “invasion” has increased in use as well-known officials have begun to make such claims, with Gov. Greg Abbott stating in a March 4 social media post that “Joe Biden’s open border policies have made our southern border the deadliest in the world. Texas stepped up to defend our state against this invasion.”

Since Biden took office in 2021, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has reported more than 7.5 million encounters with unlawful migrants along the southern border.

These reported encounters come in addition to the estimated 1.7 million “gotaways” who unlawfully crossed into the United States and evaded apprehension during the same period, according to the House Homeland Security Committee.

Omar Ayub, a 20-year-old Somalian migrant who was traveling to the United States after fleeing his home country due to concerns about terrorism, noted that it costs roughly $15,000 to make the trip and that the Biden administration has made it easy to enter the country.

“He’s a good president, too. He’s trying to make it easier for migrants to come to America,” Ayub said, as reported by The Epoch Times.

The high number of crossings has prompted Trevor Loudon, an expert on communist regimes, to claim that unlawful migrants are “being used to turn America into what they’ve fled — or even worse.”

“Immigration is being used to destroy the United States politically, culturally, economically, and even geographically,” Loudon told The Epoch Times.

“So yes, it’s 100 percent a communist program to bring this country to its knees,” he claimed.

The phenomenon of mass disruption due to unlawful migration was previously seen in Panama’s Darién Gap, a small region containing an indigenous population of an estimated 10,000 people, as The Dallas Express reported.

More than 400,000 migrants were estimated to have crossed through the region over the course of 2023, creating instability for the residents in the area.

The Dallas Express also previously reported that non-governmental organizations were using taxpayer money to help fund caravans of migrants traveling to the United States.

One example cited was the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, which received over $40 million in taxpayer funds in 2021, roughly one-third of the organization’s $122 million budget.

An estimated $70 million of the organization’s budget was allocated to fund “refugee and immigration assistance” in foreign nations. Many of the people receiving assistance allegedly crossed into the United States.
