A franchise concept that specializes in gourmet sodas is opening a drive-through in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Swig already operates eight stores in North Texas, including in Prosper, McKinney, Celina, and Fort Worth. According to a state filing, the company is spending an estimated $550,000 to improve a 1,805-square-foot site on North Denton Tap Road in Coppell. Construction is expected to begin in April, and the project delivery date is September 24.

The company is known for its “dirty sodas.” In The Know reported last summer that Swig’s popularity was featured in a TikTok video that showed a long line of drivers waiting to place their orders at a Swig location in Utah.

Swig offers dozens of dirty sodas — from such creations as Naughty and Nice (Dr Pepper, English toffee, and Half & Half) and The Rocket (Mountain Dew, raspberry, coconut, blackberry, and vanilla cream) to Sleigh All Day (Fresca, lemonade, pomegranate, peach, strawberry puree, and fresh lemon) and Happy Camper (root beer, marshmallow, and Half & Half) — along with pretzel bites, cookies, and hot chocolate.

Babcock Design is listed as the design firm on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.

“Swig is a drive-by drink shop that offers a colorful and kid-friendly atmosphere,” the design firm’s website shows. “The white-on-white walls and exposed structure blend into the background while the vibrant accents take center stage. They are known as ‘Home of the Dirty Soda’ and offer shaved ice, ice cream, smoothies, flavored sodas, and custom concoctions with a smile. Patrons can also take pictures in front of the oversized Swig ‘logo wall’ to update their social media.”

The new Swig location will be built at Coppell Market Center.
