Tax season is upon us, but a partnership between the City of Dallas, AARP Texas, and Community Tax Centers aims to lighten the load through free tax filing assistance.
A total of 15 Dallas public library branches will be offering free tax help, in part at taxpayers’ expense, ahead of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filing date of April 15. As recently reported by The Dallas Express, the IRS has been stepping up its hiring of enforcement personnel thanks to taxpayer spending increases authorized by the Inflation Reduction Act.
Anyone looking to get help with this year’s filing can do so at the following locations, each of which differs in how the services will be conducted. Be sure to bring all relevant tax documents, a Social Security card, and a photo ID.
Bachman Lake Branch Library
