Five Below plans to build a location in Carrollton by the end of the year, with dozens more expected to open around the country this month.

A state filing shows the Carrollton project includes interior improvements at a 9,518-square-foot space at the Trinity Valley Shopping Center on North Josey Lane. The estimated construction cost is $600,755, with an anticipated completion date of November 4.

Five Below is building a second store in Frisco early next year, as previously reported by The Dallas Express. The company’s website shows the existing store is at 3333 Preston Road. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulating filing, the new store is under construction at 4995 El Dorado Parkway. The work’s projected construction cost is $225,000 for the 11,088-square-foot store.

Five Below brands include products tied to Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Barbie and include books, phone accessories, electronics, small toys, and travel accessories, to name a few.

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Five Below was founded in 2002 and has approximately 1,200 stores in the U.S., including 148 in Texas. Products range in price from $1 to $5, with some items selling upward to $25. The company is a “high-growth value retailer offering trend-right, high-quality products loved by tweens, teens and beyond,” as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

In 2022, Five Below revealed that it planned to open 1,000 new stores over the next three years in the wake of Toys “R” Us filing for bankruptcy in 2017 and closing all its locations. By 2030, CNN reported that Five Below hopes to open another 2,500 stores, adding that the company recently partnered with Instacart to offer home delivery.
