Four Fort Worth firefighters were injured after their firetruck rolled over at the intersection of Village Creek Road and Wilbarger Street.

The crash occurred at 2:34 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to a statement by the Fort Worth Fire Department posted on the social media platform X. All four firefighters were taken to the hospital, with one remaining in critical condition and another listed in stable condition. The two other injured firefighters were treated and released by 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The critically injured firefighter was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, Fox 4 KDFW reported. The driver was pinned in the vehicle and was taken to the hospital by air ambulance.

The department says the truck involved in the accident was on its way to a house fire at a single-family home in the 4500 block of Pecos St. when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, trapping the four firefighters inside. Another fire engine responded to the call in its place. Officials say one person was injured in the housefire, though the extent of the person’s injuries is unknown.

“Our foremost priority is supporting the wellbeing of our firefighters and their families in this difficult moment. We appreciate the support and prayers of the Fort Worth community as we stand by the injured and their families,” Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis said in a news release.

“Our firefighters are always there for our community, and right now, we need the community’s prayers for their recovery and healing,” Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker said, per the news release.
