Elon Musk recently broadcast a theory that Democrats seek to legalize millions of unlawful migrants in order to gain a “permanent majority” and thus a “one-party state.”

Musk made the comment as part of his reaction to an AP article from January 2021 which detailed President Joe Biden’s goal of bestowing a path to citizenship for at least 11 million unlawful migrants.

“Biden’s strategy is very simple,” Musk wrote.

“1. Get as many illegals in the country as possible. 2. Legalize them to create a permanent majority – a one-party state. That is why they are encouraging so much illegal immigration. Simple, yet effective.”

In a follow-up post, Musk said this is why Democrat-run cities like New York City will tolerate rampant crime committed by unlawful migrants, like the group assault on city police the previous weekend, instead of deporting them.

“This explains why there are so few deportations, as every deportation is a lost vote. As happened this week, you can literally assault police officers in broad daylight in New York, be released with no bail, give everyone the finger and *still* not be deported!! Outrageous.”

Not done yet, the following day Musk reminded his readers how even unlawful migrants can impact voting rights across the country.

“Most people in America don’t know that the census is based on a simple headcount of people (including illegals) *not* just citizens. This shifts political power and money to states and Congressional districts with the highest number of illegals.”

In January, U.S. Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY) candidly noted how this policy allows her to draw more political influence into her district.

“I need more people in my district just for redistricting purposes,” Clarke said, as reported by Fox News.

Republicans are seeking to change the law on how congressional districts are apportioned so that only citizens are counted. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) responded to Musk’s post by asserting that most Americans are against the apportionment by headcount, but are simply unaware that is the method currently used.

“True. And when they find out, most Americans disagree with the current practice of counting illegals in the census and awarding congressional representation and electoral votes based on illegals,” Massie wrote while drawing attention to his bill.

Former President Donald Trump attempted to change census rules to keep unlawful migrants from being included in the tally for district apportionment, but his efforts were ultimately frustrated by the U.S. Supreme Court, which rejected the proposed changes, and by opposition within the administrative state.
