Buildings in Dallas and across North Texas lit up the sky purple to celebrate the 100th birthday of Scottish Rite for Children on Sunday night, Oct. 10.
The purple lights were seen in Dallas at the Bank of America Plaza, Omni Dallas Hotel, Reunion Tower, Hunt Consolidated, and AT&T Discovery District.
The purple light in honor of the Scottish Rite for Children was also seen in Frisco at the Frisco Square, National Soccer Hall of Fame, Frisco Chamber, Hall Park, and Frisco City Hall.
“Scottish Rite for Children was established in 1921 when a group of Texas Masons approached Dallas’ first orthopedic surgeon W.B. Carrell, M.D., about providing care to children with polio. With the introduction of the Salk and Sabin vaccines in the mid-1950s, which virtually eradicated polio in the Western Hemisphere, Scottish Rite broadened its focus to other orthopedic conditions,” explains their website.
Scottish Rite for Children campuses in Dallas and Frisco also lit up purple as they celebrated one hundred years of providing quality care and introducing innovative treatments in pediatric orthopedics. Since its establishment a hundred years ago, the organization has become a world leader in healing children’s muscles, joints, and bones.
The organization will continue its commitment to provide children with orthopedic conditions and learning disorders the medical care they need.
