The Powerball jackpot is growing with no grand prize winner since October 11, when one lucky California resident won $1.765 billion.
The Powerball multi-state jackpot drawing is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. CT. Although there have been winners of other prizes, no one has snagged the jackpot prize in the last 30 consecutive drawings, so the grand prize has rolled over and continues to increase.
For the next Powerball drawing, which will be held on Wednesday, the jackpot stands at an estimated $572 million, with a cash value of $286.7 million. This is the fourth jackpot this year to surpass the half-billion dollar mark.
In last Monday’s drawing, two players, one from New York and another from North Carolina, won $1 million each. Neither of them had selected the Power Play option, which would have boosted their win to $2 million.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. So far this year, there have been five jackpot winners:
- February 6, 2023 – $754.6 million – WA
- March 4, 2023 – $162.2 million – VA
- April 19, 2023 – $252.6 million – OH
- July 19, 2023 – $1.08 billion – CA
- October 11, 2023 – $1.765 billion – CA
The largest Powerball jackpot in the game’s history was $2.040 billion, which another lucky player in California won in November 2022. That win currently holds the world record for the largest national lottery jackpot.
