Art lovers and museumgoers will have a new program to enjoy at a local museum at the turn of the new year.
The Dallas Museum of Art will debut a new free admission program next year. This new program will allow patrons to view normally paid-for attractions once a month.
The Dallas Museum of Art announced that it will start its new program, “FREE First Sundays: Access for All,” on January 7. This new program will allow visitors to view a variety of exhibits, usually $40 per ticket, for free on the first Sunday of each month.
This program is supported by the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program. Exhibits include Afro-Atlantic Histories, He Said/She Said: Contemporary Women Artists Interject, and Abraham Angel: Between Wonder and Seduction, according to the museum.
Patrons will also have the opportunity to view permanent collections curated by the museum.
“Providing access to art for all is an essential tenet of our institution,” said Agustín Arteaga, the Eugene McDermott Director of the Dallas Museum of Art, in a statement, according to Dallas Culture Map. “We are grateful to the Art Bridges Foundation for helping us expand upon our free general admission offerings to extend a welcoming hand to each and every corner of our community.”
General admission to visit this museum is already free to visitors. DMA is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
