Lightning-fast internet speeds are coming to the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The City of Fort Worth and Hospitality Network (HN) are bringing approximately $1.2 million worth of WiFi infrastructure upgrades to the Fort Worth Convention Center (FWCC). The upgrades, which are specifically designed to support larger crowds, live streams, and remote presentations, are part of a $700 million overhaul/reinvigoration to the downtown facility, as reported by The Dallas Express.
HN is currently working with FWCC to install more than 100 access points throughout the property, covering its roughly 400,000 square feet of exhibit space, ballrooms, meeting spaces, and outdoor events plaza.
FWCC general manager Cynthia Serrano said that lowering the access points away from metal structures will help prevent interference and connectivity issues around the convention center, NewsRadio 1080 KRLD reported.
“Guests can expect lightning-fast and accessible connectivity throughout the venue with solutions specifically designed to support larger crowds,” HP said in a news release upon being selected as the city’s exclusive telecommunications partner.
Connectivity at the FWCC will see significant improvement in bandwidth, which is set to increase from 500 MB per second to 2 Gigs per second.
HN was selected as Fort Worth’s telecommunications partner because of its extensive portfolio of innovative connectivity offerings and deep industry experience in hospitality.
“Fort Worth is now considered a top-growth tech city. As such, it’s critical that hospitality-focused venues are providing outstanding connected experiences for the ever more tech-savvy guest, said HN vice president Jady West in a statement.
“Creating this modern, advanced user experience is a major focus at Hospitality Network, and we look forward to supporting the Fort Worth Convention Center through this exciting season of expansion,” she said.
